Opt Out! Keep Or request an analog Meter – To prevent Higher Bills, Privacy Violations, & Health & Fire Risks!

The Smart Meter Problem.

Utility companies around the world are replacing electric, gas and water analog meters with pulsed radiation smart meter networks, which are costing us money, privacy, and our health and safety.

Smart Meters, (also called AMI, or OMR) eliminate meter reader jobs and are part of the “Smart Grid”, which is an expensive wireless system installed on our homes, businesses, and in our environment that customers pay for.

Smart Meters Have Health Risks.

They are being installed without informed consent and without full disclosure of how they work, and what they can do with the personal data they collect.

Customers report serious complaints about Smart Meters due to adverse health effects, privacy invasion, cyber-security risks, house fires, and overbilling .

Quick videos explaining Smart Meters and how they will affect you if you do not exercise your right to opt-out.

KNOW THE RISKS: ‘Smart’ meters are linked to higher bills, adverse health eects, privacy   invasion, res (suspected in 3 deadly) and two former CIA Directors assert ‘smart’ meters violate privacy and make the grid   vulnerable to hacking and cyber attack.

Higher Bills

On June 11, 2014, CPS Chris Eugster stated to the S.A. City Council re: ’smart’ meters in other cities: …“one of the biggest complaints were those of high bills.”

“Where smart meters have been deployed, energy bills have risen. When ‘Time-of-Use Pricing’ is implemented you will be charged more for electricity when you need it most.” http://takebackyourpower.net/take-action/10-questions-for-your-utility/

Health

The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) recommends that No Smart Meters be on patients’ homes if they have certain conditions and disabilities: https://aaemonline.org/pdf/AAEMEMFmedicalconditions.pdf

Dr. Ronald Powell, Ph.D. Applied Physics, Harvard: “RF radiation from Smart Meters is persistent and powerful . Court documents indicate these

meters pulse RF radiation 10,000 to 190,000 times per day, 24/7. FCC regulations are out of date and too permissive to protect the public from harm.”

Symptoms reported after installation: sleep disruption, tinnitus, insomnia, heart palpitations, arrhythmia, headaches, agitation, dizziness,

neurological symptoms, pacemaker disruption, etc. Google: “Biological Eects from RF Radiation at Low-Intensity Exposure, based on the

BioInitiative 2012 Report, and the Implications for Smart Meters and Smart Appliances.”

May 11, 2015, “190 scientists from 39 nations submitted an appeal to the UN and the WHO, requesting they adopt more protective exposure

guidelines for electromagnetic elds (EMF) and wireless technology in the face of increasing evidence of risk.”

PRIVACY

“With a smart meter, you can no longer retreat into your own home and expect to have the privacy that is guaranteed by law. Thus, smart meters are unconstitutional and illegal. Smart meters relay detailed data about electrical usage, which allows reconstruction of a household’s activities, — when you are home or away… One cannot rely on a utility’s claim that they will not release or sell information to other parties.” http://takebackyourpower.net/take-action/

Fires

There have been numerous res in North America (3 deadly- 2010 CA, 2013 Reno, 2015 Dallas) as well as electrical problems, and appliance damage related to smart meters. http://emfsafetynetwork.org/smart-meters/

CYBER-SECURITY

CYBER-SECURITY Former CIA director James Woolsey says the hacking vulnerabilities of the “so-called Smart Grid” render it “a really really stupid grid.” Cyber security expert David Chalk says: “There is not a power meter or device on the grid that is protected from hacking– that can cause the grid to be shut down or completely annihilated.”

NOT GREEN

Google: “ ‘Smart’ Meters – The Opposite of Green” (Common Ground Magazine, April 2014)

“The pilot results showed no benecial impact on total energy usage.” (CT. Atty General Jepsen) “Smart meter programs have not shown energy savings. The smart grid system takes more energy… millions of new wireless transmitters on the grid are constantly using energy…

Any technology that harms the health of humans, plants, and animals can never be considered environmentally sustainable or ‘green’.”

NO COST JUSTIFICATION

Northeast Utilities in Massachusetts stated in a written submittal, “There is no cost justication that can support the implementation of smart meters…there is ample evidence that this technology will be unduly costly for customers and that the objectives of grid modernization are achievable with technologies and strategies that rank higher in terms of cost effectiveness…the costs associated with AMI are astronomical, while the incremental benefits for customers are small.” http://takebackyourpower.net/2014/05/nine-reasons-why-smart-utility-meters-are-a-big-mistake/

Attorney General of Illinois, Lisa Madigan, “Consumers don’t need to be forced to pay billions for so-called smart technology to know how to reduce their utility bills….The utilities have shown no evidence of billions of dollars in benets to consumers from these new meters, but they have shown they know how to prot. I think the only real question is: How dumb do they think we are?”
